When General Electric in Denver decided to rethink their office landscape and develop drop in facilities to support local needs they ended up with eight businesses sharing among other things one multi-media conference room. “The new office became one giant space that needed to accommodate people visiting from out-of-town and provide them with creative spaces to work,” says Laurel. In the entry a series of panels depicting blown up photos of GE products set the tone for the 21st century office environment. In the conference room the sliding doors are fitted with aluminum perforated panels with marbles sandwiched in between. “Like many high profile companies GE has an extensive set of graphic standards to determine brand integration like logo size and placement,” she says. “There was great leeway for creativity but going through two large binders that outlined their standards was a key part of the process.”
